The Nigerian army has disclosed some of the strides undertaking by its headquarters, this was done during the 13th edition of the Social Media influencers seminar which took place in jalingo Taraba state with a theme "The Evolving role of the social media in support of the Nigerian Army "Non Kinetic line of operations ".
Some of the project executed by the military includes, Renovation of class rooms in some parts of the country, Medical outreach, Water projects , Donation of tractors, Construction of chapels, Construction Buildings, distribution of Agricultural inputs, Construction of roads, Class room blocks , Hostels in schools, distribution of Personal protection equipment, Utility vehicles , distribution of Palliative construction of Dams, Construction of bridges.
The CEO Security Affairs Amb. Austin peacemaker disclosed during the seminar that ,this seminer was an avenue put together so as to create a better relationship of the civil military affairs, he said informations have been conceived wrongly about the Nigerian Army and also shared wrongly and has also created wrong impression of the military in the minds of Nigerians hence this seminer, he said this is the 13th Edition since it began in the country and charged Social media influcers to be carries of informations that speaks positivity of their nation.
Speaking at the event by Miss Shade Tayo Umbule a HOD in the department of Mass Communication Federal polytechnic NAKEDE who was one of the facilitators talked about "social media, new battle field weapon and strategies towards combating insecurity in the country" , she said the powers of social media can not be over emphasised as it has become a force to reckon with in the world of today, she said the global world is no longer global but rather pocket world as people move around with their world (phones ) in their pockets.
She narrated how the military have been misunderstood severally in their defence for the country, she said citizens must understand from the perspective which they are always coming from which is to keep the Nigerian territory first rather than misjudged them for trying to nib insecurity on the bud.
Col. Ogusanya elaborated and explained some of the challenges which the military undergo which futher gives the military difficulties in tackling some of the insecurity issues saying information are been sold out against the Nigeria Army by some civilians, and he called on every social media influencer to engage in proper content dissemination in support for the fight against these negative vices.
The second Speaker by name Hon Nelson C. Len who spoke on Social Media a psychological tool for successful operations non kinetic line of operations " said , it is very impossible for anyone to register success in any spheres of life without him or her First of all winning from the mind, he said what ever we creat in our minds plays a major role in our physical actions and outcome. He stated that the Nigerian Army does not only need weapons to win the fight against insecurity but also need the moral supports and booster from Nigerians in whole, he said the informations we disclosed most times on the social media affects the outcomes of the military operations either positively or negatively because when a man is praised for what he has done , it spurs him to do more but when his spirits is down tuned he tends to loss courage in that which he ventures into and that is the case with most of the operations the Military undertakes.
He advised every social media influcer to as much as possible put the interest of the nation first, to support the military through giving out the accurate information of their engagements , and to as well always use same platform to appreciate their efforts as this will score them to do more.
General HT. Wesley speaking said just as every human so is the military and they must first of all stay alive to be able to protect us, he said the difficulties encountered in their line of operations can only be solved by collective responsibility, meaning every Nigerian must get involved in the fight against insecurity and this must not be Kinetic but rather better be non kinetic. He said there is no single attack on the military that is not as a case of sold out information against the army and this has been a combating field which has proven to be tighten in the operational line,he called on citizens to always talk to the military on in formations which will lead to the successful combating of this tics eating up our nation. He however advised that citizens should always try to understand angles from where the military mostly comes from because a lot has been seen in the lines of their operations and when the react most times it might be as the result of some of those actions.
