2021 Passing-out Address By The NYSC Taraba Coordinator Mr. Anthony M. Nzoka

ADDRESS BY THE NYSC TARABA COORDINATOR MR ANTHONY M. NZOKA DURING THE WINDING-UP AND PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF THE 2021 BATCH CORPS MEMBERS AT THE TRADEFAIR COMPLEX, JALINGO, TARABA STATE.

      Protocol:

I heartily welcome you all to the 2021 Batch A passing-out and winding-up ceremony. Today’s occasion marks the completion of service of 2021 Batch A Corps Members deployed to Taraba State for their national service. As such, I must say that we are most inspired by the presence of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Taraba State Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku and other distinguished personalities who have gathered here to felicitate with us.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, everything that has a beginning must have an end. There is a time to undergo a training programme like these corps’ members have done and a time to manifest the values and ideals that have been imbibed.

My dear corps members and fellow compatriots in national service, you answered the call of the Fatherland to be a part of this noble scheme with excitement and great expectations. Time has rolled so fast and it is about a year now since you began, and time for you to disengage from the services of the scheme.

As we all know, the success of any programme is measured by the degree of its accomplishments. Within this short period, you have contributed immensely to the attainment of the scheme’s objectives and in the development of the nation. The commitment, resilience, focus and loyalty you have exhibited in the course of your mandatory service has culminated in the feat you have achieved and thus we celebrare you all. As we acknowledge your performance, we give glory to the Almighty God for His mercies and grace that has preserved and led you to this finishing line.

In the course of the service year you have acquired a lot of experiences, trainings, skills, ideas, mental and moral reorientation that will enhance your dreams, hopes, aspirations and visions in life. The entrepreneurial skills you have acquired should by no means be jettisoned as they will help you start up small businesses and medium scale enterprise. The Scheme is not unaware of the challenges a lot of you face as regards funding and has created opportunities for financing of your business proposals through channels such as the Unity Bank-funded Business Proposal Competition and British-American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation-funded Farmers for the future programme. Access Bank and the Enterprise Development Centre have also partnered with the Scheme to host competitive entrepreneurship programmes with business mentoring and financing packages for winners. You can also take advantage of the NYSC Bank of Industry Graduate Entrepreneurship Fund for funding of your business proposals.

]     Dear Corps Members, I urge you to develop the fear of God, have faith in him and follow his divine leading. Do not sacrifice your age-long convictions, beliefs, integrity and honesty at the altar of get-rich-quick-schemes and social vices. Remember that hard work always pays. Dare to dream big and avoid inordinate ambitions. Above all, be prayerful, industrious, determined, patient and positive-minded.

My speech here today will not be complete without acknowledging the support that the Administration of His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku is giving to the scheme in the State. Your Excellency Sir, your Administration’s support especially in the area of security of Corps Members, and creating an enabling environment for work, has led them to execute a number of meaningful community development service projects out of which some were selected for the State Honours Award.

May I reiterate that the management of the scheme under my leadership would continue to work assiduously to support your administration and equally encourage our dear Corps Members to support your developmental efforts in the State.

On a final note, I say that it is with mixed feelings that the entire NYSC family in Taraba State bids farewell to the 2021 Batch A Stream I corps members. I wish you all a very blissful, rewarding and fruitful future and hope to meet you at the upper echelon of various organisations and institutions.

May God Almighty grant you journey mercies back to your homes and communities.

     Thank you.

It is now my pleasure to invite the Chairman, NYSC State Governing Board Hon. to deliver his  address.
