ASUU Tell FG The New Condition To End Strike

 

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Wednesday listed new conditions to end its current industrial action.

The strike which was declared on the 14th of February has lasted for six months now.

Speaking on Channels TV, ASUU President Mr. Emmanuel Osodeke encourages the federal government to inform Nigerians of the funds it has sanctioned for revitalization, their value, and the timing of their release.

Mr  Osodeke requested the Federal Government's opinion on the University Transparency and Accountability Solution be made clear (UTAS).

Stressed further, He advised the government to find out if the deal ASUU had with their panel had been approved.

However, The Federal Government was requested by the ASUU President to come and inform the union if they had agreed rather than address to the press.

"Government should inform us and Nigerians— the money that has allegedly been approved for revitalization — how much is it and where is it lodged," Osodeke said. When will it be made available?

"Third, have they endorsed the compromise we came upon with their panel? Instead of going to the media, they ought to come to us and tell us this.

"A strike is a sign of a larger issue. You won't have a strike any day you solve that issue.
