Longer Nights (Poem)

 Longer Nights

Darkness has bewitched light

To ride on the wheels of doom,

Fight to blind it core sights.

Gripped progression like tight broom.

Rays of hope sunk in distrust:

Our wages rust

For years in the nights.

Why other years of the nights?

For a second becomes longer than an hour,

Sights blurred for faint morrow;

Perpetual resolutions turned sour

On the dream of better morrow.

Awstricken at the slow walk

Of millepedes and centipedes.

Lost if they'd paddle us to dawn:

The day we never cease to dream.

These nights_ours,

A full grown nights deep in our hearts.

Wake you daggers of revenge!

To sieve the timeless nights

On the bed of progressive lights.

Fight the dreaded nights

Let the day break now,

While we're one and our souls alive.
