Tell her before she comes of age
That her existence is not for marriage
It shouldn't be what she should aspire
But successful life should be her desire.
Teach her not to be somebody's
But empower her to be somebody
With the right skills acquisition,
Exposure or sound education.
Tell her economic independence isn't restricted to gender
And a man doesn't have to be a woman's provider
Talk to her about great women you admire,
Let her know their success stories that inspire.
Teach her self-care and domestic chores
Not as gender roles nor societal norms
But because they are survival skills
And early, they should be instilled.
Teach and talk to her about sex education
It's never too early to give her the right information,
Let it comprise the right words for her anatomy,
Sexual consent and right to bodily autonomy.
Make her understand she's not living for likeability
People pleasing shouldn't be her responsibility,
But teach her to be bold, humble and kind,
Raise her to be real and saying her mind.
Teach her these before she becomes a woman.
It is not to be anti-man, but to be a pro-human,
This way, you will raise a fulfilled woman
Whom her generation will honour and stan.
